Dundee United have rejected an offer worth £900,000 for Will Ferry. Ferry, 25, has caught the eye of top clubs in Slovakia and Czech Republic and Courier Sport understands one of those prospective suitors tabled an opening bid for the Republic of Ireland international in recent days. However, the package was not deemed acceptable and, while the parties remain open to further discussions, United intend to hold out for a fee more reflective of Ferry’s importance to the Tangerines. Despite the player being in the final year of his contract, that will be well into seven figures. Ferry notched four goals and nine assists last season and was named in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year. The Tangerines are keen to keep hold of the midfielder, who has been a key player for the club in recent seasons. United are confident that they can secure a better deal for Ferry, who is one of the club's most valuable assets. The club is expected to hold out for a fee that reflects Ferry's value to the team, with the player's contract set to expire at the end of the season.
