Goodwin Takes the Buck

Yoro’s Mistake
Goodwin singled out young midfielder Abdoulaye Yoro for a mistake that cost the first goal. "The opening goal came from a promising counter‑attack that was turned over in the middle of the pitch," he explained. "Yoro stopped the ball and did not try to recover it, which was a poor reaction. He is a young player from a different league and environment, and we had a conversation at half‑time to make sure he knows what is expected."
Agyei’s Fitness and Ferry’s Status
United also hope that midfielder Emmanuele Agyei will be fit for the trip to Kilmarnock. Goodwin said Agyei had picked up a small niggle in training but is an important player for the team. Regarding Will Ferry, the manager admitted he had tried to keep the player’s fitness a “red herring” before the game to avoid giving the opposition information.
