Dundee United defender Miller Thomson has joined Scottish Championship side Stenhousemuir on a short-term loan until January. The 22-year-old, who has made 42 appearances for United but has not featured in the Premiership this season, will aim to regain fitness and confidence after a spell of injury problems.
Manager Jim Goodwin described the move as essential for the player's development. "This is a great opportunity for the 22-year-old, who has endured injury problems in recent months," Goodwin said. He hopes the loan will provide Thomson with consistent game time, allowing him to return to full fitness and push for a place in a Dundee United side currently fourth in the Premiership with 10 points from seven games.
The club will monitor Thomson's progress closely during his time at Stenhousemuir, who sit eight points clear at the top of the Championship. His loan spell is scheduled to conclude ahead of Dundee United's next Premiership fixture, an away match against Falkirk on 10 October.
